Principal's Message

I am very excited to begin the 2017-18 school year as we have much to look forward to as a school community. Last year we opened our new computer lab and we were able to add a Chromebook cart to the technology we have available for student use. We also began our orchestra program and competed in the Los Angeles County Science Olympiad for the first time. We will continue these activities this year, and in addition, we will be opening a new STEAM lab. We will place an even greater emphasis on reading this year as we use the Read N Quiz website to recognize students who are reading independently at home. Finally, we will spend this year preparing for the opening of the Hamasaki Medical and Science Magnet Center in Fall 2018. There are many exciting things happening at Hamasaki this year. We are definitely a school on the move!

In addition to offering a rich and rigorous instructional program, at Hamasaki we strive to develop the whole child. Our socio-emotional program includes Second Step, Restorative Justice, and counseling services offered by interns from CSULA. We want our students and parents to feel that Hamasaki is a second home, where students will be nurtured and guided to achieve their fullest potential. Our teachers and staff are dedicated to the success of every student on our campus and I invite parents to be partners with us in your children's education.

Hamasaki students will learn to be contributing members of the school community, and our academic program will help students develop the 21st century skills they need to be successful as they continue their education to prepare for college and their career.
